JF1 - Customer Advisor - Credit Control (Collections Solihull)

Previous experience in a credit control environment is required. Based in Solihull, starting salary is £12,500 depending on experience.

We are looking for a Customer Advisor to join our Credit Control team. The main objective of the Credit Control team is to understand the different circumstances of customers who are having difficulty paying their account and work with them to bring their accounts back to a satisfactory position within agreed timelines. If you excel in different conversational techniques, can impact and influence a customer and work well to targets this may well be for you.

Your main duties will be to:
  • Respond to/ contact customers by phone/letter to support them in repayment of debt. Assess and negotiate acceptable repayment arrangements to minimise losses to business
  • Deliver a high number of outbound calls to ensure maximum contact with our customers is achieved
  • Update collections system with key information on existing accounts to ensure records are complete to enable accurate reviews to take place
  • Make repayment arrangements using judgemental skills which are appropriate and realistic to ensure commitments are fulfilled
  • Deal with queries and issues raised by Customers - escalate as necessary for support
  • Monitor accounts which are 1-6 months in arrears, send appropriate letters to customers and where necessary complete closure procedure for accounts
  • Endeavour to locate customers who have gone away and where necessary refer to external trace agents
  • Represent the company under or Debt Recovery brand instigating a more robust collection conversation.
