(JF2 Specialist - starting salary £17,000 depending on experience) Our in-house IT Development team are looking for an experienced COBOL programmer to join their busy team in Solihull.

The team are responsible for the design, development, and support of the systems that we use to run the business, including the OneBill system, Lending, Nexus Leads, and our exciting new Pre-Pay Debit Card and Current Account system. We also work alongside software vendors who provide other critical systems such as CWX in Solihull, and BankMaster and Figaro based down in London.

Your main duties will be:

• Analysing business requirements to produce technical designs where appropriate, then systems
• Impact Analysis of system, database and application changes
• Estimation of work required to meet business requirements
• Developing applications and systems in line with documented requirements and specifications
• Maintain system, application and database integrity
• Working with 3rd parties and software vendors to implement systems
• Create and maintain system documentation
• Work closely with users to further business knowledge and system requirements
• Share application and operational knowledge with Development team members
• Advise the Development team on programming methods/techniques
• Export, import and deploy systems while ensuring integrity
• Ensure adequate testing of changes
• Knowledge share with the Development team
• Support system in and out of office hours
• Participating in the support of applications as part of operational and helpdesk processes
